Asa Moeckly leads Moeckly Contractor alongside his wife, Wendy, and their two sons, combining five generations of land stewardship with high-precision civil site execution. Raised on the family farm built by his great-great-grandfather, Asa has operated heavy machinery and managed agricultural land since boyhood. His background spans heavy equipment operation, metal fabrication, and underground mining—instilling a practical, mechanical mindset for solving complex site challenges.
With 20 years of military service in the Iowa Army National Guard, Asa began his career as an M1 Tank crewman, including overseas deployment, and now serves as a CW2 Construction Engineer Technician (120A). In his military role, he plans, manages, and oversees large-scale horizontal construction, road building, and structural site prep.
Asa holds a B.A. in Business Management from Grand View University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®). He brings advanced technical capabilities to every project, utilizing Civil 3D design software alongside Trimble GPS site survey and layout technology to model earthwork, calculate grade profiles, and execute high-precision site prep. While Asa provides comprehensive constructability design, site modeling, and grading workflows, formal engineering and surveying documentation are coordinated through licensed partner firms.
Under Asa’s leadership, Moeckly Contractor serves a wide range of clients—including private real estate developers, agricultural land managers, and county NRCS offices—delivering efficient, high-integrity earthwork across central Iowa.

Wendy Moeckly | Operations &Financial Lead

An Ankeny native with deep roots in central Iowa, Wendy Moeckly serves as the operational backbone and financial manager of Moeckly Contractor. Holding a B.A. in Journalism from Iowa State University and a degree in Accounting from Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), Wendy combines clear communication with sharp financial discipline to keep the company running smoothly.
Wendy’s role goes far beyond traditional office management. On any given day, she can be found handling full-charge bookkeeping, coordinating equipment logistics and parts procurement, or operating machinery directly on jobsite locations. Her meticulous attention to detail ensures project budgets remain accurate, vendor relationships stay strong, and day-to-day operations run with maximum efficiency. As a key strategic partner in the family business, Wendy’s practical oversight keeps project schedules balanced, ensuring the team delivers exceptional quality without compromising operational sustainability.
